RIGA, May 19 (LETA) - Development/For could nominate its candidate for the interior minister until this coming Monday, MP and member of Development/For board Inese Voika told LETA.

Voika said it would be "ideal" if Development/For selected a candidate by the coalition's meeting this coming Monday so that Saeima could vote on the candidate on Thursday next week.

Voika explained that Development/For board had set up a task force to select the best-suited candidates and inform the board about its progress.

When asked about Latvian Television's report that she herself had been mentioned as a potential candidate, Voika said that all members of Development/For Saeima group had been briefly considered for the post.
