Despite delivery of various type of armored vehicles, the NAF still using 50-year-old Czech tanks

RIGA, May 7 (LETA) - Despite the delivery of various types of armored vehicles and the presence of such equipment in the NATO Battlegroup, the National Armed Forces (NAF) still uses Czech-donated tanks manufactured in the 1960s and 1970s.

In March 2000, the NAF received three T-55 AM2 tanks donated by the Czech Republic. Two of these tanks were manufactured in 1978 and one in 1969. All three tanks were overhauled in 1992. The tanks have since been modernized.
