Continuation of remote studies after the end of the state of emergency was in line with the Constitution - Constitutional Court

RIGA, May 27 (LETA) - The legal provisions that permitted remote studies in schools after the state of emergency was over are in line with the Constitution, the Constitutional Court ruled on Friday.

The case was opened following complaints from several primary and high school students.

The state of emergency, which was declared due to the Covid-19 pandemic, continued from March 12 to June 9 last year, as well as from November 9, 2020 to April 6, 2021, during which time all schools switched to remote learning. However, even after the state of emergency was over, remote studies continued, the plaintiffs said in their petition.
