Construction of Eur 7.2 Million Solar Power Plant to Begin in Salaspils Next Week
RIGA, March 13 (LETA) - Construction of a centralized heating system powered by solar energy will begin in Salaspils with a foundation stone laying ceremony next Wednesday, with the project's costs planned at EUR 7.228 million, Lolita Balcerbule, a representative of the Salaspils regional council, told LETA.
Preparation works are under way at Salaspils Siltums heating utility to install 1,720 solar collectors with 21,595 square meters of total active space. This will be one of the largest solar central heating systems in Europe.
