Competition for Saeima seats to be tougher than in previous elections

RIGA, Aug 2 (LETA) - Competition for seats in Saeima will be tougher than in the previous parliamentary elections four years ago, the Central Election Commission's chairwoman Kristine Berzina told Latvian Radio this morning.

Today is the last day political parties and associations may submit their tickets for the 14th Saeima elections to the Central Election Commission. Three more parties are to submit their tickets today, which means that a total of 19 parties and political associations will participate in the 14th Saeima elections.
