BTA non-life insurer raises premiums by 6% in 2021

RIGA, May 11 (LETA) - BTA Baltic Insurance Company (BTA) grossed EUR 220.3 million premiums in the Baltic states last year, which is an increased of 6 percent against a year before, the company informed LETA.

Insurance claims paid out by BTA grew 5 percent year-on-year to EUR 134.1 million in 2021.

The insurer's profit, meanwhile, declined 34.2 percent from 2020 to EUR 8.286 million last year.

The insurer's 2021 profit before taxes dropped 32 percent from 2020 to EUR 9.6 million, which included EUR 4.5 million generated in Latvia and EUR 8.3 million made in Lithuania. In Estonia, BTA sustained a loss of EUR 3.2 million.
