Baltic unit of meatpacker HKScan posts EUR 7.1 million operating loss for H1

TALLINN, July 20 (LETA--BNS) - The revenue of the Baltic unit of the Finnish meat industry group HKScan for the first half of this year grew almost 10 percent to 90.6 million euros, however, the unit finished the period with an operating loss of 7.1 million euros, compared with an operating profit of 200,000 euros registered for the same period last year.

The goodwill write-down of the Baltic business was -15.6 million euros, according to HKScan.

In the Baltics, net sales for the second quarter totaled 49.4 million euros, 17 percent more than a year earlier. Operating loss was 2.2 million euros, compared to an operating loss of 500,000 euros in the second quarter of 2021.
