Baltic defense ministers note necessity to promote Baltic defense cooperation

RIGA, May 27 (LETA) - The defense ministers of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia at meeting on the Estonian island of Saaremaa on Friday stressed necessity for even closer defense cooperation that would result in new agreements on mutual assistance, LETA was told at the Latvian Defense Ministry.

t the meeting, the Baltic defense ministers repeatedly denounced Russia for its unprovoked and unjustifiable full-scale invasion of Ukraine, as well as agreed to provide unwavering support to Ukraine, insisting on its sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders as the only precondition for lasting peace.
