Alcohol production in Latvia up 16.9% y-o-y in January-May

RIGA, July 27 (LETA) - In January-May 2022 Latvia produced 23.67 million liters of alcoholic beverages (excluding beer), which is an increase of 16.9 percent against the respective period a year ago, according to the excised goods data released by the State Revenue Service.

In the first five months of this year, wine production increased by 42 percent, production of intermediate products with up to 15 percent alcohol content jumped 51.2 percent, production of intermediary products with alcohol content between 15 percent and 22 percent rose 1 percent and production output in the group of other alcoholic beverages was up 14.2 percent.
