airBaltic sees passenger numbers grow nearly fivefold in April

RIGA, May 10 (LETA) - Latvia's airBaltic national carrier flew 244,100 passengers in April 2022, which is 4.9 times the number it carried during the same period a year ago, LETA was told at the company.

In April this year, airBaltic operated 3,150 flights, which is 3.1 times more than in April 2021.

irBaltic CEO Martin Gauss said that each month airBaltic carries a growing number of passengers, proving that the aviation industry is on a path to recovery. Even though in April the airline carried significantly more passengers than a year ago, the number of passengers was still 40 percent below the figure recorded in April 2019.

In April 2022, airBaltic's 15-minute flight punctuality indicator was 92 percent, which means that 92 out of 100 airBaltic flights...
