RIGA, July 20 (LETA) - Latvia's national carrier airBaltic might achieve pre-pandemic passenger numbers this year, the airline's CEO Martin Gauss told LETA.

It is hard to tell at the moment how many passengers airBaltic might carry this year as flights are being booked only eight weeks in advance. "These are consequences of Covid-19 because people no longer make plans for a more distant future," Gauss said.

The airBaltic CEO indicated that previously the company planned to carry 3.3 million passengers in its network this year, but airBaltic aircraft and crews fly also with other airlines, which is additional 1.5 million passengers.

This year, the total number of airBaltic passengers might be largest in the company's history unless something unexpected happens, Gauss said, adding that the passenger booking profile is currently only eight weeks, and people are not yet booking flights for November or...
