Additional EUR 7.75 million allocated to accommodate and feed Ukrainian refugees

RIGA, May 10 (LETA) - On Tuesday, the government allocated an additional EUR 7.75 million for Ukrainian war refugees who have arrived in Latvia for apartment rental, accommodation in municipal housing, tourist accommodation, as well as for meals.

The amendments to the regulations on the provision of accommodation and catering services to the civilian population of Ukraine estimate that another 7,000 Ukrainian civilians will enter Latvia due to the war, who will have to be accommodated for 90 days and have to provide food for 30 days.

The annotation of the amendments states that 4,000 people will need support of 400 euros per month for a rental apartment. EUR 1,599,600 has been earmarked for this purpose. Another 3,000 people are planned to be accommodated in municipal accommodation and tourist accommodation...
