80 citizens of Russia and Belarus have sought asylum in Latvia since Russia's invasion of Ukraine

RIGA, July 21 (LETA) - Since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, 80 citizens of Russia and Belarus have sought asylum in Latvia, LETA found out from the Office for Citizenship and Migration Affairs (PMLP).

From February 24 to July 15, 32 citizens of Belarus and 48 citizens of Russia have applied for asylum in Latvia. Currently, a total of eight persons from the above have been granted international protection.
