80,000 parcels held up in Latvia arrive in Estonia with great delay

TALLINN, May 13 (LETA--BNS) - Approximately 80,000 parcels held up at the Latvian postal service arrived in Estonia with a great delay, the significantly longer transport times than usual were caused by disruptions in international supply chains due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine.

The Latvian postal services company, Latvijas Pasts, said that these were mainly regular Aliexpress parcels sent from China. The earliest shipments were posted at the end of last year and the beginning of this year, the Estonian state-owned logistics company Eesti Post, which operates under the Omniva brand, said.
