56.9% more passengers were served by Latvian ports in Q1

RIGA, May 8 (LETA) - In the first quarter of this year, a total of 69,360 passengers were served in Latvian ports, which is by 56.9 percent more than in the first quarter of 2021, but by 57 percent less than in the first quarter of 2020, according to the data published by the Central Statistical Bureau.

Of these, 57,018 passengers were served at the Port of Ventspils in the first quarter of 2022, which is by 55.7 percent more than in the first quarter of 2021 and by 30.3 percent more than in the first quarter of 2020.

In the first quarter of this year, 22,597 passengers arrived at Ventspils Port by ferries, which is by 57.4 percent more than in the first quarter of last year and by 31 percent more than in the first quarter of 2020, but 34,421 passengers departed by ferries, which is 54.5 percent and 29.9 percent more, respectively.
