52,956 cases of reinfection with Covid-19 registered in Latvia in last six months

RIGA, May 3 (LETA) - Between the first week of November 2021 and the third week of March this year, 52,956 cases of reinfection with Covid-19 were registered in Latvia, accounting for 9.6 percent of the total number of new Covid-19 cases registered during that period, according to the Health Ministry's report on epidemiological safety risks associated with Covid-19 that will now be reviewed by the government.

In total, 771,038 new Covid-19 cases were registered in Latvia from the beginning of the pandemic until the third week of March 2022.

The highest number of new Covid-19 cases was reported in the sixth week of 2022 - 68,517 cases, while the highest daily number of new Covid-19 cases was on February 19 this year - 11,992 cases, when the 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases amounted to 7,199.2 cases per 100,000 residents.
