41% of Children Born in Latvia Out of Wedlock

RIGA, Feb 22 (LETA) - According to a study carried out by the Latvian Child Welfare Network, in cooperation with project partners in Lithuania and Estonia, 41 percent of the children born in Latvia are out of wedlock.

Meanwhile, 27 percent of children born in Lithuania are out of wedlock, and 56 percent in Estonia.

The EU average is 43 percent.
