1,249 Ukrainians have received assistance in Liepaja and Dienvidurzeme Region

RIGA, May 9 (LETA) - Since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, 1,249 war refugees from Ukraine have received assistance in Latvia's southwestern city Liepaja and surrounding Dienvidkurzeme Region, LETA was told at the city's government.

total of 996 Ukrainians have found refuge in Liepaja, and 74 Ukrainian students have enrolled at Liepaja's schools, while 46 kids from Ukraine are attending preschools in Liepaja. Last week. the city's social service disbursed EUR 31,524 in benefits to Ukrainian refugees.
